Preston People Panorama
Posted by Andy on February 8, 2013
Wash helped out the team at Dovetail who were responsible for putting together Preston People Panorama project with photographer/artist Jan Chlebik. We helped them with the brand and design of the exhibition in Preston. Great turn out for the launch and worth a visit.

Beyond The Castle
Posted by washdesign on January 31, 2013
Beyond The Castle has been an amazingly successful Co-Design project where the people of Lancaster shared their ideas on how the park behind Lancaster castle should be improved. To celebrate the project, Wash have been asked to design an evaluation report to record the events and conclusions.
Own your brand
Posted by Andy on December 20, 2012
Last week saw our first outing of ‘Own your brand’ – A co-design workshop we’ve created specifically for youth groups, youth organisations and schools. A way of getting young people engaged in the branding process and helping them to understand what their brand really stands for. This first workshop was with the Lancashire Music Hub.
Uncanny

Whilst doing my quarterly search through all things Media City (Don’t ask)… I came across one of those 360 panoramic images of the site. Looks uncannily like our mark! Hope they are still using it and not given in to MedioCrity.
Thanks.

What a week for the loss of some talented and inspirational people: Architect – Oscar Niemeyer, Musician – Dave Brubeck, Musician – HughLloyd Langton, Astronomer & Broadcaster – Sir Patrick Moore. All very much part of my growing up in some shape or other. I’m sure their creative contributions will be around for some time.
Beyond The Castle

Beyond The Castle has been a Co-Design project I’ve been involved in over the last few months. Asking the people of Lancaster and of all ages, to share their thoughts and big ideas of how they feel the park behind the castle should be improved, as currently it’s just partially managed open park land. The Co-Design was done in a series of fun events than ran over the summer and autumn. It’s been a great project to be involved in and looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
Good for Nothing

Last weekend a couple of us here at Wash donated our time to the first ‘northern’ event held by: Good for Nothing.
The premise is simple, get together over 48 hours and do some good (for nothing), but its impact goes beyond a weekend – producing long-standing positive change to great causes.
You can read more about one of the projects (featuring Emma) on the guardian!

Love these ridiculously detailed and elaborate murals by Charlotte Mann created using think black marker pens. (spotted over at Beautiful/Decay).
FutureEverything

FutureEverything, Manchester’s annual Music/Art/Ideas festival, took place last week and was one of the best yet. Music highlights for me included Tim Hecker, the Haxan Cloak and Detroit deep house/techno legend Mike Huckaby. I even got to play myself! That’s me in the picture at the Instituto Cervantes.
