“The brief was to work with a group of young people to rename and rebrand our ambitious youth led programme for Lancashire which forms part of the North West’s cultural legacy programme for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Wash worked closely with us to design a series of creative workshops so that the young people would learn all about the process of building a brand, get to create mood boards and have design ideas of their own – but ultimately the young people were the client commissioning a brand that Wash designed and they commissioned so they would take ownership of the project going forwards.

Wash were really flexible when it came to engaging and responding to the young people so that the branding sessions were informative yet creative. The end result was a new name and brand for Blaze that had an edge, spoke directly to our audience and works brilliantly on-line and on event merchandise. We knew we’d got it right when we found ourselves under siege at the launch event from BMXers queuing up for a Blaze hooded top… They practically mug us for Blaze merchandise, but we can’t put that!! Can we?”
